Coventry Woods Neighborhood Association
For 25 years, the all-volunteer Coventry Woods Neighborhood Association has worked to “protect, preserve and promote Coventry Woods.”
Every year, we ask current members to renew their membership, and for non-members to join. The cost is $30 per household. Members and non-members alike benefit from the not-for-profit CWNA.
The CWNA networks with CMPD, city hall and civic organizations to make Coventry Woods a safer, more vibrant and desirable place to live.
The CWNA brings us together. Family events open to all included the 4th Annual Halloween Party in the Park and annual summer cookout. The CWNA began informal monthly meet-ups at a variety of breweries and spots close to home. They’re great places to relax and chat with your neighbors while supporting a local business too.
The CWNA reaches out to help. For the past several years we have worked with Manolo's Bakery to treat teachers at our home schools of Idlewild Elementary, McClintock Middle and East Meck High School to a variety of baked goods as a thanks for all they do. For three years we have coordinated Thanksgiving food boxes for the Charlotte Rescue Mission. In 2024 we donated 35 boxes thanks to the generous support of CW neighbors.
We touch every street. Every July 3, in advance of Independence Day, CWNA volunteers distribute American flags, free of charge, to each of the 502 front yards in Coventry Woods. Working with TreesCharlotte, the CWNA has helped residents receive free trees. Every spring, the CWNA’s traditional Pine Straw Sale returns with free delivery of pine straw to spruce up curb appeal.
We let you know what’s going on. We administer the Coventry Woods Neighborhood page on Facebook, have an Instagram page @coventrywoods28212, maintain our website -- www.cwna.org – and oversee the Coventry Woods page on Nextdoor.com. We also keep you posted on news, neighbors and events through our quarterly Woods Watch newsletter, which CWNA volunteers distribute to every house in Coventry Woods.
Keeping Coventry Woods stable and prosperous requires your help. Please renew your membership or become a new member. We welcome volunteers -- and want to hear your ideas!
